North Pointe, a Quality of Life
that we all want to call HOME
North Pointe a “Neighborhood Community” is located north of Loop 289 on Slide Road between Erskine and Marshall Avenues. It is currently the newest and largest Neighborhood under development in the North Central sector of Lubbock. Construction of North Pointe Phase I began in 2005. Currently new homes are being constructed in Phase II, which is one of the selected Neighborhood sites for this year’s West Texas Home Builders Association Parade of Homes.
The North Pointe Neighborhood is part of a 1500 plus acre Master Planned and Architecturally Controlled Community. The development plans for North Pointe and other Neighborhoods within the Community will include landscaped walking and jogging trails, a public park, a fire station, public schools and retail outlets strategically placed to support the Neighborhoods. Centennial Elementary School opened in 2007 and is located in North Pointe. Currently the Lubbock Independent School District is in the planning stages for additional campuses to be located in North Pointe. The North Slide Road expansion was completed in the Spring of this year. Plans are underway for the construction of Slide Road to continue north to Clovis Road, Highway 84.
North Pointe is proud to be the location of the West Texas Home Builders
Association “Operation Finally Home,” a project that will provide a home, absolutely free, to a deserving disabled Veteran of the Iraqi encounter. Anthony and Jessica Villarreal will call North Pointe home and you can call them your Neighbor.

About

The Trails is one of Lubbock’s newly master-planned communities whose tagline “where roots run deep” fits not only because of the hundreds of trees lining the parks and streets, but also because this posh new neighborhood is where relationships - as well as homes - are built to last.
In today’s fast paced lifestyle, the Trails is an oasis. Spend the afternoon with your laptop in Lubbock’s only public wifi park...listening to the streaming water while the kids throw a football. Walk with your spouse after dinner or enjoy a glass of wine with friends under the wood trellises near the stone pavilion. Saturdays begin with Yoga in the Park and end with the kids making s’mores at the community fire-pit. The Trails offers an escape from the rut of everyday life.
From its dramatic stone-accented entrance to its impressive tree-line streets, you are greeted by a distinctive sense of arrival. Nestled in the Frenship School District, you can also rest assured that your children are being inspired daily by award winning educators.
Equally important was making the development close to everything you need to help you achieve balance in life. Whether you prefer driving a suburban to the grocery store to feed the whole soccer team or walking your canvas shopping bag to the deli, we cater to making your life easier.
Unique homes, award winning schools, fantastic parks – all connected by pathways where dogs have the right of way – make the Trails a place where roots run deep.

President's
Welcome
As President of the West Texas Home Builders Association and on behalf of the Board of Directors, it is an honor and privilege to welcome you to the 2011 Parade of Homes™. The Parade of Homes provides our members a venue to showcase the many advantages offered in new construction today. This is the 54th year for our Parade and as always has something to offer for everyone in the community.
We have three spectacular subdivisions to present to you and 24 homes, each with its own unique style. As you tour these homes, built by some of Lubbock’s finest builders, please take note of the commitment each builder has made to unique designs, craftsmanship and cutting edge technology. From start to finish each home builder and hundreds of sub-contractors have spent countless hours preparing for this event. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated craftsmen in this area.
Over the years, the West Texas Home Builders Association has taken great pride in the fact that this event has made it possible to provide support for so many of our local charities. This year the Parade Committee chose Operation Finally Home as our beneficiary. The mission of Operation Finally Home is to provide custom built mortgage free homes to wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen in an effort to get their lives back on track and become productive members of their communities. This organization gives our veterans a helping hand up, not a hand out. One of our local heroes, Cpl. Anthony Villarreal and his wife Jessica, will receive a new home this year built by generous members of the West Texas Home Builders Association. This beautiful home is available for you to tour during the Parade in our North Pointe subdivision.
I would like to thank each of you for taking time out of your hectic schedules to spend a few hours with us. Your continued support of this event is greatly appreciated. I also want to thank all of our sponsors, committee members, volunteers and staff for all they do to make this event happen.
Sincerely,
Robert Wood

It is happening right here in Lubbock and comes to you in the form of our West Texas Home Builders Association annual Parade of Homes™. When you, your friends and your family want to experience something refreshingly new this spring, consider spending a little time at this event that gives physical expression to some of these spring time wonders.
The Lubbock Association of REALTORS® congratulates our local craftsmen and artists who have invested heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into their products for your enjoyment and/or consumption again this year. Yes, it is time to enjoy this year’s event taking place June 11 to 26th. As an extra bonus for attending this year, ticket proceeds will go to the support of our troops through the “Operation Finally Home” program. What a great way to say “Thank you!” to those that sacrifice so that we have freedom. Benefits abound for everyone involved. Our builders get to showcase their products with new designs, materials and innovations while you get quality family activity to enjoy that also supports our returning troops who have served our nation so well.
You will be welcome at the 2011 Parade of Homes™! Thank you for your participation!

Chairman's
Welcome
Welcome to the 2011 Parade of Homes™. This year we have three subdivisions in the Parade with price points from less than $200,000 to more than $750,000. I hope you will tour all three sites and enjoy the homes.
As you might expect, I’m an advocate for new homes. New homes are built to be more energy efficient; they follow a more stringent building code; they have improved indoor air quality; they are often more open and family friendly. Parade homes have all those expected new home advantages, and they often have even more features, exhibit greater attention to detail, and may provide increased value for the buyer’s dollar. Builders bring their best game to the Parade.
This year we have added several new features and made some changes to the Parade format including:
1. NEW HOURS we have added some hours and moved our opening and closing times to a bit latter in the day. Weekday hours are 6pm to 9pm and weekends are 2pm to 9pm.
2. We have more Parade information on our website at wthba.com. Please go there to download a Smart Phone App to enhance your Parade experience. Also on the site is a link to become a fan of the West Texas Home Builders Association on Facebook.
3. Before the Parade opening we shopped around Texas and invited talented members of the home building industry to tour the Parade. Last week we declared those fine folks “our Judges” and then asked them to critique our homes in each of these areas: Favorite Kitchen, Favorite Master Suite, Favorite Decor, Favorite Floor Plan, Favorite Landscaping and Outdoor Living. Our judges have presented 18 awards that are now displayed in the homes. During the first nine days of the Parade please vote for your own Favorite Home at the ticket trailers as you leave the subdivisions. We are proud of all the homes and eager to see which homes rate as your favorite.
4. Traditionally a portion of the Parade proceeds has gone to a local charity. This year we have modified that program. In October of 2010 the members of the West Texas Home Builders Association decided to provide a wounded veteran with a new, mortgage free home. Teaming up with the folks from Operation Finally Home we have completed a home in North Pointe for Marine Corporal Anthony Villarreal and his wife Jessica. The Villarreals will be moving in immediately after the Parade. We salute the Villarreal’s service and hope you enjoy visiting their home during the Parade.
Sincerely,
Larry Driskill
